Dr. Olivier Fontaine is currently a professor at the Université de Montréal, Canada.
He earned his PhD in electrochemistry from the University of Paris Diderot, studying "Electrochemistry in Ionic Liquids: Electron Transfer and Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy."
He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Collège de France and the University of St Andrews, collaborating on projects related to mesoporous films and redox shuttles in lithium-air batteries.
Before his current role, He served as an associate professor at the Charles Gerhardt Institute in Montpellier, France, focusing on electrolytes.
His collaboration with DR. Frédéric Favier at ICGM provided him with valuable insights into project management and supercapacitors.
He was also involved with the Research Network on Electrochemical Energy Storage (RS2E), further broadening his expertise.
His time at VISTEC Institute in Thailand was transformative, allowing him to advance his research while immersing himself in the vibrant Thai culture.
As a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France, he is recognized for the quality of his research and his commitment to advancing electrochemistry.
